Doing the historical look of my partners went smoothly apart from on the day I did have a problem with the curl but managed to fix it for the photo and kept stepping in. I believe I was professional with my application and with interacting with the model.
I was so excited to start the contemporary image and had so many ideas! After watching party monster I knew straight away what scene I wanted to do and that it had to be Sally Bowles. The way the film was really inspired me to look more at the clubs that would be around today and how people acted within that scene today, I was shocked to find it was still the same. I loved experimenting with the glitter and trying different techniques on how to apply it to the skin. I really struggled with the balance of making a club kid but still keeping the element of fame and glamour. Overall I believe I achieved that.
My hair has to be my favourite of my design it took me an hour and a half just to prep but the final result was so worth it, it just makes the picture. The hair was made to look like a big fur collar on the fur coat I bought for my model to wear. I learnt how to do face charts better this year and think they portray my ideas a lot better, I was able to really show where I wanted things to blend and be sharp with the use of makeup. I wish we had learnt more hairstyles within our hair classes and how to create 1930’s styles. I really enjoy learning and feel I would have really benefited from this.
I recently learnt how to create a moving picture so thought I’d try to do this for my contemporary image as it was something a little different. It turned out really well apart from the quality and really shows the character and personality I wanted my Sally Bowles to have.
Overall this semester has been interesting I’ve learnt more knowledgeable things than skills and techniques. I had more fun doing the historical as this is the first times the reins were taken off what we could do.
